Question:

Can you think of any other family favorite dishes?

— Denise Tarasuk

Answer:

The jackfruit barbecue is one of those, which is a great one where, um, you basically shred jackfruit. You can also do it with mushrooms as well. Um, you can put a, a barbecue sauce of your choosing into it and make those into tacos. A wonderful way to be able to make those, um, other family kind of favorites too. Uh, they're a big fan of doll so, um, you know, there's a lot of different kinds of doll. I usually, they're a big fan of the black lentil. Um, typically, and I'll usually do a couple kidney bees or something in that as well too, but I usually do just a bean and a lentil bean and rice mixture, which is wonderful. I change that recipe up all the time though. I also do a cha masala, uh, for them as well that they do love. I'll do it very, very mild for them. They were born in Texas and they definitely high, uh, can, you know, handle heat more than most kids. But even at our, you know, local Indian restaurant, we go super mild for those. So, um, but yeah, for kid wise though, uh, you know, and they're involved with those things too, you know, so adding all the different seasonings to the dish, adding the lentils to the pot, you know, um, and just try to make them as much involved with the food as possible. I'd mentioned earlier that we just recently started doing sushi too. It's a great kind of hands-on activity. Um, my youngest loves sushi. My oldest is not so keen on it, so we make a rice bowl for her using the sushi rice and then all the ingredients kinda laid around the top. She doesn doesn't like in the sushi form, which is fine. So she gets a rice wall instead.
