Dates are so sweet - can we use dried figs instead in recipes?

Answer:
So, um, dates have a very tough skin and, uh, also sometimes people don't like the presence of the big seeds. And I don't know if you're talking about dehydrated or fresh, um, there's more calcium in the dehydrated than there are in fresh. I would use less dates and add more water, and you would still get a really nice, uh, paste from that. So that would be, uh, my suggestion.
